We’ll meet in The Old Brewery, by the log burner.  There you’ll have time sit by the fire and enjoy Mulled Wine and Festive Treats (during the November workshops) or a glass of fizz (during the December workshop).*

Take your place at your work station, which is equipped with everything you need to create your festive wreath.

Cath and Lexi will then guide you through the ‘process’ of creating your wreath from start to finish – giving you tips and tricks along the way.

You’ll take home a beautiful festive wreath that can be enjoyed well into 2026.

All materials and foliage will be provided.

£65 per person

We can take back your wreaths once you’re finished with them. We dismantle and let our hens, ducks and geese enjoy the foliage before it’s made into compost.

*Complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided.

Join us at the farm in The Old Brewery for a monthly lunchtime get together (last Thursday of the month 12noon -1pm) at The Promise Co. Leyland Farm, M28 1BD …

There's no better medicine than your community …

I'm Andrew from The Promise Co. at Leyland Farm. I was inspired by a recent trip to Oslo, where I discovered a group who had set up a monthly lunch meet up. Nothing fancy, all about friends, community and promoting connection (spoiler - this is NOT a networking group). They wanted to keep it simple, inexpensive and fun.

So here we are 'Community as Medicine' - the last Thursday of the (most) months, 12noon-1pm. Join us for lunch for the price of a meal deal (£5).

As we prepare all food fresh, we can't take 'walk-ins' on the day. We can accommodate sign ups up until midnight on the Tuesday before though, so plenty of time for a last minute sign up!

Menus - I'll be using seasonal produce from The Farm Kitchen to create a delicious menu and all dietary requirements will be catered for.

If you're not sure it's for you, want to know more or have any questions then give me a call or drop me an email - Andrew - 07835218259 / hello@thisisthepromise.co.uk

The History of the Farm

promise farm

Leyland Farm is located on Shudehill Road in the ‘New Manchester’ area of Worsley, Manchester. It dates back to the 17th century when it was first built as a farmhouse. The area surrounding the farmhouse became known for its mining heritage, with several coal mines operating nearby during the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The farm has undergone several refurbishments and additions over the years, including several barns and stables being added since the late 18th century. Most recently, the farm has been used to grow crops and rear livestock.

Follow The Promise Co journey ….

The area around Leyland Farm remains an important part of Manchester's industrial and mining heritage, with several mining-related landmarks and museums located nearby. The Worsley Delph, a canal tunnel that was used to transport coal from the mines, is now a popular tourist attraction and is located just a short distance from Leyland Farm.

In recent years, Leyland Farm has taken on a new lease of life. A ‘young’ family took over the Farm in 2021 and is steadily transforming the space into an Urban Homestead. They have self sufficient dreams and enthusiasm in abundance. The farm still retains many of its historic features, including exposed brickwork and wooden beams. They plan to retain as many original features as possible while converting the space into a more modern farm dwelling fit for a busy farm and family life.
