The Promise Co.
A Promise Made. A Promise Kept.
After years of working on and in our own businesses (running a design studio and a marketing consultancy) … we made a promised to do ‘something together’! We weren’t sure what … but something.
Fast forward 15 years … one holiday home in Yorkshire (Lodge One … available for rent … ask us for details … it’s beautiful), a summer chateau hunting in Northern France and several house hunting trips to Northumberland … we came to view a house in New Manchester and fell in love with a neighbouring farm that wasn’t even for sale! Leyland Farm. 2 years later we got a call from the owners asking if we wanted to buy it. 2 further years later, we got the keys and moved our family in with the vision of creating an Urban Homestead in Worsley.
We have ‘Self-sufficient dreams’, an abundance of ideas and vision and lots of passion.
The Plan …
Fresh and Quality Produce - We took over the existing egg business (hens, ducks and geese) … adding to our flock, and sourcing free range eggs from other farms when we run out (which is most days). We’ve added honey (with beehives from a local beekeeper, and in 2024 with our own hives. We also provide fresh artisanal sourdough bread and pastries on Fridays (please pre-order by Sunday 4pm).
Events, Workshops & Experiences - We have a beautiful program into 2025, see our What’s On page or the Store for more details. We also sell gift vouchers which can be redeemed against any of the events, workshops, experience or produce.
So if you want to: see where the hens roam; buy some fresh honey, or; order a loaf of amazing sour dough bread - come down and see us or get in touch!
